Fallingwater by Brittany Dee
Inspiration: The house Fallingwater by Frank Lloyd Wright inspired me because it fits in with its environment. The use of water flowing under the house shows how he used every part of nature in what he created. The many windows and balconies are areas from which to look upon the nature and to enjoy its splendor.

Early Twentieth Century School House: Union Style by Union 6th Grade Purple Pod Students and Parents
Inspiration: Our inspiration is an American early century school house. We are 138 6th grade students in the Purple Pod from the Union School district. We were inspired by a trip in the 4th Grade to Oklahoma's own Rose Hill, where we were set back in time to 1915 to learn as children did then. All 138 students were able to help construct our school house, complete with bell and Flying Jenny! We had several amazing parents help with our construction, for a new learning experience we will never forget! Of course we had to complete it with our very own "U" logo.

Global Peace Village by Ruth, Amanda, Elaine & Ruby
Inspiration: “Global Peace Village: From Tulsa to Amsterdam, to Dubai, to Durban, to Beijing, to the Amazon, May Peace be with You." Being from two diverse culture-Europe & Asia & now living in the US, I had to go with the global theme. In the front of the global village to the left is a Bedouin tent complete with a Persian rug, spice palm tree & camel, to the right is a depiction of a European shelter, in the center is a version of an African dwelling with the drums & Zebra, to the right of that is a South American type structure with a burro & maracas, to the back of that is a portrayal of a Chinese home with colorful fans in front and slated tiled roof, to the left is the United States with its larger homes that are very decorative during the Holidays. Included are the labels for each house with the local greeting.-Ruby Libertus-Munasinghe

Lincolns Log Cabin by Victor Toering
Inspiration: I really love to build, and Abraham Lincoln was a very inspirational president to me. Most everything Abraham Lincoln did was for the best of others. I think building his childhood home in honor of Abraham Lincoln is the least I can do for a man who did so much for our country. So Abraham Lincoln is what inspired me to build this house.

Kilkenny county cottage by Destiny Griffin and Hailey Franks
Inspiration: The inspiration for my partner and I gingerbread cottage was the love of old fashioned cottage in Ireland. My partner enjoy's the look of the cottages and beautifully made the houses are. I love the way the cottages never look the same, everything is very personalized. The houses in Ireland are very different than the houses in any other place and that is why we chose to build this Kilkenny county cottage for our gingerbread house.

Ashridge woodland gingerbread house by Natasha Collins
Inspiration: Five minutes away from my house is Ashridge, an ancient English wood where Henry VIII hunted deer. There is a mysterious run down cottage/hut in the middle of the woods I;m not sure who lived there or what it was for but there is something magical about it.

Gingerbread Lighthouse by Lisa Michele
Inspiration: I love lighthouses, they're so serene, sturdy and architecturally beautiful. They steer mariners through thick fog and dark nights, away from areas that could be dangerous, by signaling them with their bright light, so there's almost something 'alive' in them to me. I can almost smell the salt air when I see photos of them. I was watching a show on lighthouses around the United States and it just so happened that the hosts of a monthly baking challenge I am a member of was 'daring' us to bake, build and decorate a gingerbread house. I knew instantly I wanted to do a lighthouse. I chose this one from Coastal Living Magazine, and it's a take on Whale Back Light, which stands at the entrance to Portsmouth Harbor in Maine. It was my first (and last, thus far) gingerbread house, and I'm pretty proud of it. It's perfectly imperfect, but thats what lighthouses are - rustic from the salt air.

Sample Gingerbread Entry #2 by Scotty & Amber
Inspiration: The inspiration for this house is Medicine Park, near Lawton Oklahoma. The unusual houses in this resort are all made of reddish cobblestone from the Wichita Mountains. We like to go here for relaxation and to browse the shops after a weekend of camping nearby. It's such an unexpected look, smack dab in the middle of Oklahoma.
