And how can you say tango and not say Carlos Gardel? When he was killed in 1935, millions of his fans went into mourning, and they still are, making pilgrimages to his tomb in Buenos Aires. People act as if he were still alive; a popular saying is “Gardel sings better every day.” Here are almost 60 of his songs, sung by him:
