Global Gingerbread Contest Rules

Global Table Adventure’s Global Gingerbread Contest begins August 1, 2011 and ends December 16, 2012, at 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST) – with an early deadline of November 12, 2012 for the “Best in Tulsa” category. By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest and states that they are 13 years old or older.

Who may enter:
Anyone 13 years old or older is eligible. Global Table Adventure will determine winners’ eligibility. While groups may apply together, only one name may be used to claim prizes.

What to enter:
One (1) photograph and description of a gingerbread house made by entrant (entrant must own copyright to the work) and inspired by “global architecture” (a.k.a. architecture from somewhere in the world). For inspiration, please view this gallery of houses around the world.

By submitting a photograph, entrant certifies that they own the copyright (or have permission) to the use the photo and have made the house themselves.

How to enter:
Please submit photographs on-line through our web site at  http://globaltableadventure.com/global-gingerbread-contest-gallery/. We do not accept photographs submitted through the mail. Submit no more than one (1) photograph (however, we encourage you to link to a blog post with more pictures and description if desired). We do not accept more than one contestant per e-mail address.

Global Table Adventure reserves the right to disqualify contestants who are unable to submit a digital photograph or who do not fill the form out correctly. To clarify: all fields marked as required on entry form must be filled out. A nickname may be used for privacy purposes (or first name, last initial), at the entrant’s discretion.

By entering the contest, entrants grant Global Table Adventure a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any educational, promotional, publicity, exhibition, archival, scholarly and all other standard Global Table Adventure purposes. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. Global Table Adventure will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.

Entry deadline: 
All entries must be received through Global Table Adventure web site by 2pm Eastern Time on December 16, 2012. Those wishing to be considered for the “Best in Tulsa” category must submit entries before November 12, 2012 and adhere to Philbrook’s contest rules [GINGERBREAD & STUDENT TREES ENTRY INFORMATION GTA 2011].

Judging:
Judging will be conducted by five judges from around the food blogging world. Decisions of the judges will be final.

On a weekly basis, Global Table Adventure will post the best of the incoming entries on our web site in the Editors’ Picks section.

The grand prize winner will be chosen from 10 finalists.

Please do not contact us about the status of entries.

The 10 finalists will be notified of their status by December 19, 2012 and will appear on our web site the week of December 19, 2012. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Global Table Adventure reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions of Global Table Adventure will be final.

Prizes:

Grand Prize: 
$150 Gift Card to World Market and $150 Shopping Spree to Whole Foods or anywhere Saffron Road is sold.

Second Place:
Hand painted Tunisian Tagine from Williams Sonoma.

Third Place:
One year subscription to AFAR Magazine, sponsored by Afar.

Best in Tulsa:

The best entry from the Tulsa area will be featured at the Philbrook Museum’s 27th Annual Festival of Trees at a special display. The winner will also be awarded a family membership to Philbrook (value $65) and two tickets to the Treeview Party in November 2012 (value $150). The gingerbread house will be auctioned off to raise money for Philbrook. To be eligible, please select Tulsa on the entry form and note early deadline: November 12, 2011 Please also note that the house must adhere to the Philbrook’s guidelines on dimensions etc. [GINGERBREAD & STUDENT TREES ENTRY INFORMATION GTA 2011]. Both the entrants and the winner of this prize will also be considered for the other prizes.

Winners may receive additional noncash prizes.

Winners will be responsible for paying any taxes they may owe on a prize.
